Farmers Market - City Guide Los Angeles - The LA Bliss

Farmers Market

No matter the neighborhood, Farmers Markets are major parts of the Los Angeles lifestyle that Angelenos wouldn’t miss for the world. High in color, rich in smells and flavors, each week they gather the producers of the region who come to sell their products in a very friendly atmosphere. All different and with their particularities, here is a selection of my favorite markets:

Santa Monica Downtown Farmers Market

The pioneer in Los Angeles since 1981 is also the favorite of the city's renowned chefs who stock up on fresh produce for their restaurants. A very wide choice of fruits and vegetables of the highest quality are available here. Wednesday & Saturday 08:30am to 1:30pm - 155-199 Arizona Ave, Santa Monica

Brentwood Farmers Market

It is not uncommon to meet celebrities here since it is located in the heart of one of the most high-end neighborhoods of Los Angeles. In addition to the food stalls, many local designers have stands at the market. Everyone knows each other and the atmosphere is very warm. Sunday from 9am to 2pm - 799 S Gretna Green Way, Los Angeles

Hollywood Farmers Market

The largest of the city with its hundreds of stands of all kinds, it is also the most diverse and the most frequented. There is absolutely everything, and you can spend hours wandering between its stands. Sunday from 8am to 1pm - Ivar Avenue & Selma Avenue, Los Angeles

South Pasadena Farmers Market

It is held at the end of the day, so it is very pleasant to walk there during the summer evenings. After buying your produce, you can order your meal in the food stands and sit on the tables to enjoy the musicians. Thursday from 4pm to 8pm - Meridian Avenue and El Centro, South Pasadena

Larchmont Village Farmers Market

It is not very big but it is the cutest of all the markets. With the Hollywood Sign in the distance, this is a good opportunity to discover the Larchmont district. Sunday from 9am to 2pm - 209 N. Larchmont Blvd, Windsor Square

Santa Monica Main Street Farmers Market

With its small square where the bands play every week and entertainment for children, it is the perfect market to go to with family on Sunday morning. Here one can find stands of local producers, caterers and designers. Sunday from 8:30am to 1:30pm - 2640 Main St, Santa Monica

Mar Vista Farmers Market

There is a wide choice of products at this popular neighborhood market: fruits and vegetables, plants, honey, organic yogurts … And also some tables where one can sit. Sunday from 9am to 2pm - 12210 Venice Blvd, Mar Vista

The Original Farmers Market

This is actually a covered hall like those found in Europe. Open every day, it is famous for its world cuisine (Brazilian, Malaysian, Italian, ...) and some stand-owners have been settled there for several decades. It welcomes many tourists throughout the year and the atmosphere is truly incredible. Monday to Saturday from 9am to 8pm, Sunday from 10am to 7pm - 6333 W.3rd St, Los Angeles
